Another band fusing modern and traditional styles of music is Percussivo Mundo Novo, a six piece band from Bahia lead by Mikael Mutti. Here is a band that mixes Afro-Brazilian roots of samba, candomble and capoeira with the contemporary influences of digital technology, electronic and world-pop music. Combining various vocal styles with live percussion and electronic instrumentation, PMN's show in New York will be one of their first in North America and is sure to deliver an explosive performance.
