Davi Vieira, who recently appeared as the voice of Armando in the movie Rio, is a percussionist, songwriter and vocalist born in Salvador, Bahia where he studied capoeira, percussion and dance. For ten years, he performed in popular off-Broadway show STOMP and has recorded and performed with artists such as Angelique Kidjo, Carlos Santana, Sergio Mendes, and many more. The music on this evening's program combines the rhythms of his native Brazil with beats and vocal styling of hip hop in music that is both propelling and celebratory.
